Coventry charity receives more than £2k from opening of new pizza restaurant

A COVENTRY charity has received a delivery of more than £2,000 after a new pizza restaurant opened in the city.

MOD Pizza opened its doors to the public at the end of March and the proceeds of all pizza sales made on the opening day have been donated to Positive Youth Foundation (PYF).

A total of £2,338.61p was donated to the charity as a result of the opening fundraising drive, the funds will contribute towards positive activity programmes for young people during the school holidays.

Positive Youth Foundation is a non-profit organisation that specialises in helping young people across Coventry through its range of programmes.




PYF works with a range of young people in their own communities, including those who find themselves in challenging circumstances.

Andrew Jack, a Trustee from Positive Youth Foundation, said: “To receive a donation such as this is fantastic and we are very grateful for the support from MOD Pizza and the other companies and organisations which support us.


“We will be using the funds raised over the course of the opening day will be utilised to support our series of positive activity programmes that we will be leading for young people during the school holidays.

“Positive Youth Foundation has strong relationships throughout the business community in Coventry and we hope to work closely with MOD Pizza in the future.

“Support like this invaluable in helping us to continue to deliver provision across the city.

MOD Pizza is at the Cathedral Lanes development and allows diners to create their own artisan pizza and salads – joining a range of new bars and eateries at the regenerated development.

Tom Patrick, from MOD Pizza, said: “We are really pleased to be giving PYF over £2000 as we know the work that they do is fantastic.

“The welcome we’ve had in Coventry has been brilliant, and we can’t wait to continue to support PYF going forward.”
