A COVENTRY businesswoman has been promoted to partner at the city’s Legal 500 firm Askews Legal LLP.
Lianne Payne – who has worked at the firm since 2014 when it incorporated her previous business DeMarco Solicitors – now heads up the employment law division.
She has worked tirelessly and made a big impact over the last eight years, bringing an employment law specialism to Askews that had previously been missing.
She has also revolutionised the company’s HR policies and has been instrumental in bringing in ‘hybrid working’, which has enabled all staff to employ a greater work-life balance, boosted morale and increased turnover.
A supportive, flexible working environment
Lianne said it was an honour to have been made a partner at Askews.
“To play a major role in such a forward-thinking company is fantastic.
“It’s such a fast-paced and demanding business we’re in, and as a mum-of-two, working for a more traditional ‘9 to 5’ company just wouldn’t be possible, especially at partner level.”
Lianne has previously held the position of partner at DeMarco Solicitors but had to make the decision to step back from the role due to family commitments.
She added the support provided by the whole Askews team enabled her to progress in her career and become a partner once again, whilst balancing work and home commitments.
She cannot wait to get started in the role and is looking forward to seeing what the future holds.
Lianne also finds time to deliver topical employment law seminars to the firm’s clients, HR professionals and external organisations and speaks as a guest lecturer on employment law at some of the region’s universities.
