Coventry businesses which have not had any Covid grant help can apply for the latest funding

Coventry Editorial 24th Aug, 2021   0

A NEW round of additional restrictions grant round has now opened for businesses which have not previously applied for one.

The pot – with £1.8million available in total – aims to support Coventry businesses affected by the national lockdown, including business rate-payers who were not forced to close but suffered a significant loss of income or non-business rate-payers who suffered a loss of income.

It also covers those in cultural and creative sectors, homeworkers, the self-employed, freelancers and those in independently-owned manufacturing businesses.

Coun Jim O’Boyle, cabinet member for jobs, regeneration and climate change, said: “It has been an incredibly difficult time for lots of businesses during the pandemic and the impact on them has been huge.

“Whilst we have offered other funding grants to businesses in the past, these grants don’t cover all businesses and we want to make sure that Coventry businesses can get support if they need it.”

He urged people to apply if they had not already, the Additional Restriction Grant scheme will be awarded on a first-come, first-serviced basis and applications must be submitted by September 10.
