Coventry Editorial 3rd Mar, 2024   0

A LOCAL athlete from Coventry is determined to represent the city in the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Alex Farquharson has aspirations set on excelling in the long jump event and is reaching out to the community to support his Olympic dream.

Alex was crowned UK Champion in February this year and now stands on the precipice of Olympic qualification.

He seeks £2,200 in funding to attend a specialised training camp aimed at refining his skills and bolstering his competitiveness.

“I have been training tirelessly for years, and the opportunity to represent Coventry and the UK at the Olympic Games is a dream I’ve held since I first stepped onto the track,

“To make this dream a reality, I need the support of my community.

“This training camp is crucial in refining my technique and pushing my limits to compete at the highest level.”

The campaign to bolster Alex’s Olympic quest is now underway, welcoming contributions from individuals, businesses, and organisations across the Coventry area.

Donations can be made through the official fundraising platform at gofund.me/3d81710c, where every contribution, regardless of size, will play a pivotal role in propelling Alex toward his aspirations.
