THE COVENTRY Branch of The Parachute Regimental Association (PRA) will be holding a charity collection in the city centre on Saturday and Sunday, September 25 and 26.
The Parachute Regiment had a high-profile involvement in the recent Operation Pitting in Afghanistan and the Coventry PRA has a ‘newer outlook’ than most veteran associations in that its members’ ages range from 18 to 40 with some still serving.
PRA representatives will be on hand to chat to people about what the charity is doing within Coventry to help those affected and the wider veteran community.
Among its aims are to promote the efficiency of the Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces and to relieve either generally or individually, those who are serving or who have served in The Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces of issues such as need, hardship or distress.
It also commemorates and remembers Airborne Forces members who have died on active service.
