A SUCCESSFUL live game concept is set to be introduced to Coventry by a city DJ and entrepreneur.
Better known as Free Radio’s JD, John Dalziel launched Escape Live in Birmingham with friend and business partner Jas Sodhi in January 2015.
Since launching, the second-city venue has welcomed more than 30,000 visitors and has captured the attention of Trip Advisor visitors as the venue is currently ranked as one of the best rated attractions.
After consideration, both Dalziel and Sodhi have now announced they are to open in Coventry and have now found the right location – a 2,200 sq ft unit at Fargo Village.
The Birmingham Escape Live features four live games where friends battle against the clock to solve a mystery to be able to get themselves out of a locked room.
And it’s not only the public that have been joining in the fun as businesses including Nando’s and Vodafone have been sending staff to the venue as part of team-building exercises.
JD said the new Coventry venture would create around 12 new jobs and bring something new to the city.
He added: “The Birmingham Escape Live has surpassed all of our expectations – both in terms of numbers of customers but also the hugely positive feedback we’ve had.
“People love them – if they play one room they want to come back again and again to play the others.
“We’ve been looking at Coventry for some time and when the unit at Fargo Village became available we felt it was perfect for Escape Live.”
The fit-out is now underway and it is expected the venue will open before the end of the year, though JD is keeping his cards close to his chest and not giving too much of the game away.
Colleague Jas added: “We both wanted to open up in Coventry as it’s our home city.
“We really feel the city is on the up and Fargo Village is a big part of that – it’s a great place that brings something new to Coventry and that’s what we feel we are doing too.
“Escape Live is great fun for friends, families and colleagues – we think we’ll attract everyone from local business people to students living in the area.
“Quite a few people have been saying to us that they want to see us in the city after experiencing the Birmingham venue – and we are delighted to finally be able to deliver.”
