COVENTRY author Aaron Ashmore has teamed up with local industrial equipment business Tooling Intelligence to donate 200 books which celebrate the city to a hospital children’s ward.

Aaron, who has handed the books to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW), is the owner of Etch and Pin. The publisher uses various projects and products to celebrate the city including pin badges and a Coventry Sticker Album.

Aaron said the response to the books has been amazing and he found great joy in keeping Coventry’s history alive.

Tooling Intelligence has supported other local causes in the past including donating defibrillators to SADS UK.

The firm’s managing director Richard Swaffield said: “It was great to team up with Aaron to donate some of his amazing Coventry books to the children and siblings who are at the children’s ward.”

UHCW Charity’s community and events fund-raiser Rachael Ryan added: “We are so grateful to Aaron and Richard for this wonderful donation of books.

“These really will make a difference to our young patients, keeping them occupied during treatments or hospital stays. It’s donations like this which help us to make things better for our patients and their families.”
