VETERAN Channel 4 presenter Jon Snow will be the keynote speaker at a major regional business conference.
Mr Snow, one of the UK’s leading newscasters, will headline the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce’s annual economic conference at the Ricoh Arena in November.
The BAFTA-award winning journalist is a former ITN Washington correspondent and has been the face of Channel 4 for almost 30 years.
He is also chair of the Heart of England Forest Trust, a Warwickshire-based charity established by publishing entrepreneur Felix Dennis.
The charity is committed to helping reverse centuries of woodland decline by planting a 30,000 acre joined up forest of entirely native broadleaf trees across the region.
Television presenter, and chief executive of multi-award-winning TeenTech, Maggie Philbin will also be speaking at the event.
TeenTech aims to help young people discover the wide range of career possibilities in Science, Engineering and Technology.
Philbin is president of the Institute of Engineering Design, chair of the UK Digital Skills Taskforce.
More than 200 businesses, MPs, councillors, and civic leaders will attend the event on November 16 for a day of key-note speakers and panel sessions on the pressing issues in local and national business.
Chief executive of the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, Louise Bennett, said: “The chamber annual business and economic conference is the premier event of its type in our area and has grown in recent years.
“We have had a string of thought-provoking speakers and Jon Snow will very much continue that trend.
“He is one of the most respected commentators and journalists in the industry and it will be very interesting to hear his take on a range of issues – especially as we will be just four months from Brexit.
“The conference is a great opportunity for businesses to air their concerns and to interact with their elected officials and decision makers, as well as their peers.”
