Changes made to the Terry Halls Home Sessions line-up after mixed ticket sales

CHANGES have been made to the line-up of the Terry Hall Home Sessions after a mixed response to some of the events.

The Specials frontman had spearheaded a weekend of events to take place in iconic places in Coventry city centre between tomorrow (Thursday) and Sunday, August 1.

But the Coventry City of Culture Trust said, while some events have proved extremely popular and are close to selling out, the take up on some of them was not as strong as expected.

And they have released a new-look line-up.

A spokesperson said: “This weekend we are looking forward to welcoming music fans from around the UK to celebrate Coventry as a proud and vibrant music city

“We are thrilled with the incredible line up of global talent that Terry Hall has invited back to his hometown for this unique event.

“While this is a major milestone for us, we have had to make the decision to reduce the number of performances taking place across Home Sessions.

“While some events are close to selling out, others have not met early expectations.

“With some audience members still reluctant to return to venues (or taking the decision to book at the last minute, reportedly concerned about being ‘pinged’), it’s important that that we now prioritise the best possible experience for audiences and artists across the programme.

“This means that while we are announcing the cancellation of a small number of events, we are also refreshing some of the line-ups, giving audiences the opportunity to see even more amazing acts with day tickets available for events in the Cathedral Ruins on Saturday and Sunday.

“This weekend provides an amazing opportunity to start to build back our world leading live music sector, and we can’t wait to celebrate the artists and freelancers who make it so special.”
