CELEBRITY chef Paul Hollywood will be powering around Coventry’s ring road this weekend at the annual Coventry Motofest.

This year will see Hollywood drive the British Touring Car Championship Vauxhall Astra, a car currently impressing in its debut BTCC season.

Hollywood will swap hot ovens for hot hatches as he joins Power Maxed Team Racing managing director and team principal Adam Weaver for some hot laps on the circuit.

The Power Maxed Racing team are already creating headlines in the current BTCC championship as they claim fastest laps, championship points and the coveted Jack Sears Trophy award in only three meetings for the brand new car so far.

Fresh from the latest success at Thruxton – which saw team driver Senna Proctor secure a podium finish – the Power Maxed team will now turn their attentions towards the unique challenge of the Coventry Motofest sprint circuit.

Adam Weaver, said: “It’ a pleasure to welcome our Power Maxed friend Paul Hollywood back to the team and let him sample our new creation.

“Paul is a massive petrol head, having raced and still racing in GT series and events around the globe.

“He’s excited to visit Motofest let alone get behind the wheel of a brand new podium visiting BTCC car.”

James Noble, Coventry Motofest festival director, said: “We are very excited to have the Power Maxed Racing team’s BTCC Vauxhall Astra Touring Car at Motofest and to have Paul Hollywood behind the wheel.

“When Paul takes to the track he will be following in the tyre tracks of our previous celebrity drivers which include Red Dwarf’s Robert Llewellyn and actor Rupert Grint’s rally driver brother James, all of whose participation shows the profile Coventry Motofest now enjoys as an event.”
