CHILDREN from Busy Bees Coventry welcomed the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress to their Jubilee Tea Party.

Newly appointed Lord Mayor Coun Kevin Maton arrived at the nursery on May 31, where children and staff gave him and the Mayoress a tour of the nursery followed by the tea party.

The Lord Mayor and Mayoress have grandchildren who attend Busy Bees.

The pair were asked questions about their new roles by the children before being presented with a celebratory rose bush.

Busy Bees Coventry’s centre director Jill Hamer said: “We were delighted to welcome the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress to our nursery.

“The children had such a lovely day and enjoyed finding out more about our special guests.

“We look forward to welcoming them back to our nursery soon.”
