British Military Fitness to run free exercise classes in War Memorial Park

BRITISH MILITARY Fitness (BMF) will make a special visit to Coventry this weekend to host a free introductory group fitness session at the War Memorial Park.

With new research revealing one in five people in the UK don’t feel fit enough to exercise, the beginners event will take place on Saturday (June 11) with the aim of motivating those who are new or returning to exercise.

The hour long sessions will take place on the first Saturday of every month from June until September.

Led by serving and former members of the armed forces, the sessions are a fun and effective way of getting fit with like-minded people.

With the encouragement of expert instructors, people will train in pairs and groups – burning up to 700 calories each session.

Harry Sowerby, managing director at British Military Fitness, said: “BMF is all about people coming together and having fun, whilst getting fit and improving their lifestyles at the same time.

“You don’t need to be super-fit to join our ranks – each session is varied to keep both the body and mind motivated.

“The workouts are designed to improve your stamina, speed, agility and strength in a fun and interesting way.

“We understand it can be scary and we really want to motivate those who perhaps wouldn’t usually consider a group exercise class to come down to the parks and see what we are all about.

“All they need to do is put on their trainers and come down to the park and we will do the rest.”
