COVENTRY Artspace will be showcasing a series of posters highlighting works of art appearing in parks and green spaces across the city ahead of a final exhibition at Arcadia Gallery.
The posters have been put onto 21 community noticeboards across the city.
The featured art will be at the Arcadia from May 26 to June 11 to bring the Artist On My Street project to a close.
The artists were selected to share their work in venues across Coventry, Leamington Spa, Stratford-Upon-Avon, and Bedworth, receiving development support and mentorship to help them to create their work and progress their careers.
They produced an audio recording on the ECHOES app to talk about the piece they had made for Artist On My Street, which will be played in the Arcadia exhibition.
Artist On My Street was an opportunity for artists to gain experience in working in suburban communities and was inspired by people who brought relief and hope to people in their neighbourhoods during the Covid-19 lockdown by sharing their work in their windows.
Coventry Artspace lead producer, Sophie Clausen said: “It has been an amazing experience to work with such a diverse group of artists, and to witness how they embraced this opportunity and developed their creative practice.”
One of the project’s artists, Tara Rutledge added: “This project has really helped to develop my curatorial skills – helping me consider the importance of the tangible connection between public art and the local community.”
