Armed robbers attempt to raid Whitley Asda store and threaten staff

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after armed robbers attempted to raid a supermarket in Whitley.

Officers were called to the forecourt at Asda in London Road shortly after 10pm last Friday (June 23).

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said the offenders threatened a security guard before escaping with his car keys.

Anyone with information is urged to call 101 and quote Crime Number 20CV/132341R/17 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
