Appeal for NHS responder volunteers to help with Coventry's Covid booster jab programme

Coventry Editorial 24th Oct, 2021   0

AN APPEAL has been launched to find volunteer stewards to support Coventry’s NHS Covid booster programme which is now under way for the over 50s and the most vulnerable in the city.

The NHS and NHS Volunteer Responders urgently need more stewards at local vaccination sites as part of the ongoing battle with coronavirus.

People who step forward will work alongside NHS staff to help ensure their communities are vaccinated and safe ahead of winter, by ensuring social distancing and the safe movement of patients through vaccination sites and by helping those who need additional support.

They ease pressures on hard working clinical staff and are set to be a valuable asset to the NHS as the change of seasons brings the additional difficulties of flu this winter.

Among the sites in need of volunteer stewards are Coventry and North Warwickshire Cricket Club and Coventry Muslim Resource Centre.

Visit nhsvolunteerresponders.org.uk for more information and to sign up as a steward volunteer.

There are lots of shifts to be filled in Coventry and as shifts are flexible, and booked via the GoodSAM mobile phone app, volunteers can choose when they work.

Expenses are covered and experience or qualifications are required and a full briefing is provided on site.
