'A time for sharing and reaching out' - Christmas message from the Lord Mayor of Coventry

Coventry Editorial 25th Dec, 2020   0

CHRISTMAS is a time for caring.

It is a time when we reach out and let people know we are thinking of them.

That is something our city has done so well over the past year.

We have seen people’s generosity and their willingness to volunteer – we have seen the bravery of frontline workers and we have seen

how our city has reacted to fight this pandemic as one community.

It makes me so proud of my home.

This Christmas it would be easy to look at all we are missing – the hug of a loved one or the party with friends.

Let us instead be happy we are keeping them safe and look at all we have to celebrate.

This Christmas, I will be giving thanks for my city and for the amazing people who have helped it through the past year and I will also be looking ahead to a bright and exciting 2021 when we can celebrate our year as UK City of Culture and everything Coventry has to offer, together.

Have a merry Christmas, stay safe, and my best wishes for a happy, healthy and peaceful 2021.

Coun Ann Lucas

Lord Mayor of the City of Coventry
