71-year-old seriously injured in hammer attack during Coventry burglary

A PENSIONER has been seriously injured in an aggravated burglary in Coventry last night.

It happened around 10.15pm when two men forced their way into a house in Flude Road, through the front door.

The 71-year-old man sustained the injuries, which police believe was caused by an attack with a hammer. He is currently undergoing hospital treatment.

The suspects were two men, around 5ft 8ins tall who were wearing dark clothing and masks.  It is believed they made off on foot.
