71-year-old seriously injured in hammer attack during Coventry burglary

A PENSIONER has been seriously injured in an aggravated burglary in Coventry last night.

It happened around 10.15pm when two men forced their way into a house in Flude Road, through the front door.

The 71-year-old man sustained the injuries, which police believe was caused by an attack with a hammer. He is currently undergoing hospital treatment.

The suspects were two men, around 5ft 8ins tall who were wearing dark clothing and masks.  It is believed they made off on foot.

Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity or has information, doorbell or dashcam footage that could help police piece together what happened should call  Warwickshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
