With this thought in mind, if you’re looking to spend some time relaxing (or even if you’ve just won a little spare change on Lottoland’s library of games), the following cost-effective days out in Coventry might be right up your street.

4 Great Cost-Effective Things to Do in Coventry

There are so many things to see and do in Coventry, and it’s no doubt hard to narrow them down sometimes. Luckily, this handy guide outlines four of the hottest local attractions that won’t leave you feeling strapped for cash.

#1 The Coventry Transport Museum

First up, a must for any vehicle enthusiast is the Coventry Transport Museum, which consists of a vast range of unique vehicles and offers the most extensive collection of road transport vehicles in the UK.

With countless amazing exhibits to see, including buses, taxis, and cars, there’s a wealth of knowledge to be found on the history of British transport. It’s really a journey through time, starting with bicycles and horses and carts, all the way through to the modern day. The museum also looks at the first car factories and their production lines, offering plenty of interactive displays.

Entrance to the museum is very reasonably priced, with adults costing £15.50 and family passes available for four people for £39 (that’s less than £10 each). All tickets also have the added bonus of being valid for 365 days of entry, meaning you can visit time and time again to really get the best value!

#2 Coventry Cathedral

Perhaps one of the most interesting pieces of architecture is Coventry Cathedral, a truly iconic and eye-catching building is truly a sight to behold. Well worth stopping by if you ask us.

And, with free entry, it’s almost a no-brainer for those wanting to visit the area or spend some time out and about. Alternatively, watch out for some of the paid events that are hosted in the cathedral throughout the year.

And did you know, the Coventry Cathedral is considered one of the most well-known globally? Its unusually late design, being constructed during the 1940s and 50s and then opened in 1962, means that the Cathedral is highly unique. It also means that the building is still pristine, having avoided the bombing of Coventry during the Second World War.

#3 Midland Air Museum

Ever heard of the Midland Air Museum? It’s often considered to be one of Coventry’s best hidden gems, and it’s well worth a visit for anyone with a passion for aircraft. The museum is also maintained and operated by local volunteers, meaning you’ll help support their great work.

Entrance to the museum is extremely respectable in terms of price. In line with this, tickets only cost around £8.95 for adults; alternatively, family tickets cost around £25 for a family of four.

The on-site tea room also offers a range of classic British meals and snacks. If you want something to remember your day out, there’s also a handy little gift shop that’s worth stopping by.

#4 Brandon Marsh Nature Reserve

If you’re the sort of person who loves to explore the great outdoors, look no further than the extensive Brandon Marsh Nature Reserve. Set on a staggering 220 acres, the reserve offers a generous range of footpaths, walks and orchards to explore. The site is also home to many species of birds and wildlife, and there are even small pools that visitors can explore.

For those with families to entertain, there are plenty of great play areas dotted throughout the grounds, as well as a mouse maze, bird-watching hides, and even a sensory garden. Meanwhile, if you get peckish during your trip, Badgers Kitchen offers locally sourced hot food and drinks, and there’s also a small gift shop that helps support the reserve’s vital work.
