TREAD the Boards Theatre Company is searching for local talent for a new production of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens which is to take the stage of the Albany Theatre this festive season.

Arguably one of the best known festive tales, the company will be holding open auditions for Coventarians wanting to tread the boards this Christmas period and hope to find boys and girls to play Tiny Tim and his siblings, with a strong supporting cast made up of local people.

Auditions are open to young people from five to 18 for the roles of the Cratchit kids.

Catherine Prout of Tread the Boards says: “Anyone, with or without experience, can come along to auditions on Saturday, September 24.

“The audition workshops are packed with activities, all you need to do is wear comfortable clothes and be ready for some drama and fun.”

The award-winning theatre company is also looking for chorus members from the community to show off their talent to their local crowd in an unforgettable, professional production.

A Christmas Carol will star BBC’s Trish Adudu who will be adding her magic to the role of The Ghost of Christmas Present and working with acclaimed west-end director Keith Myers.

A Christmas Carol is the first co-production between Tread the Boards and the Albany Theatre, Coventry.

School performances run from December 8 to 16, while public performances will run from December 16 to January 2.
