Unveiled: The Secrets of Brixham Blinds Blinding Success

Coventry Editorial 5th Mar, 2020 Updated: 5th Mar, 2020   0

There aren’t many companies that can boast they have one hundred percent five star reviews – but Brixham Blinds in Coventry are one of the few that can. The Observer’s Claire Bullivant spoke to owner Zak Mangera to unveil the secrets of their blinding success.

“Absolutely delighted,” “Couldn’t be happier,” and “Impeccable job” are just some of the online comments used to describe Brixham Blinds service. But what is the secret to this company’s success?

After spending an hour with owner Zak this morning – I started to understand how this company had grown so quickly in just over six years to become one of the region’s most successful blinds businesses.

“It’s all about service. We’d rather go the extra mile and have a happy customer than just work for a profit,” owner Zak tells me and I can see from the hundreds of happy online reviews and even thank you cards pinned proudly to his office pin board that Brixham Blinds has many, many happy customers.

Now I’m no interior designer but I know a nice window furnishing when I see one. I really like that new show-home look and I also love the amazing blackout blinds you sometimes get in hotel rooms. I swear I have the best sleeps when hotels have them and have often thought I should look into getting some. But I’ve never really known where to go or what to ask for.

Zak talks me through some of his stylish range and explains the differences between venetian, roller, vertical, pleated, roman, wood weave, shutters… and all the different offerings in between.

“Shutters are really popular at the moment. They can be brilliant for complete darkness at night too and they do look spectacular but it’s important to get the right sort and style for your room.”

In fact, Zak’s the kind of man who will talk you out of spending a small fortune with him if the product’s wrong and will make your room look smaller.

“It’s important to do the best possible job and have a very happy customer. So much of our business is word of mouth so we want to get it right,” he proudly tells me.

What about achieving that really expensive show-home look for the whole house on a budget I ask?

“You don’t have to do everything at once. Perhaps start with some stylish vertical blinds and then we can add to it later. We’re offering seven vertical blinds for £250 at the moment so it’s a great option if you’re on a budget. The important thing is to get quality and get them properly measured and fitted.”

I do know the importance of this. I tell Zak how I once helped an ex-boyfriend get some blinds from Ikea many years ago. In fact, it was about four trips back and forth and we still couldn’t get anything to fit. In the end we just got an extra big blind and hung it over the

whole window. Let’s just say the light from the street continued to pour in and it wouldn’t have made the cut on an episode of Changing Rooms.

He smiles: “Yes it’s tempting to buy readymade blinds thinking you’ll save money but we can’t stress the importance of getting measured and fitted correctly. We really understand this so are very happy to come out, measure and provide a free no-obligation quote.”

They also give a complete five-year guarantee on all their bespoke blinds and also offer a seven-day fitting promise. This means they will build, deliver and fit any blinds within seven days as well as having the measurements finished within 48 hours of your consultation. Amazing.

I’m sold… I can certainly see why Brixham Blinds are so popular. Zak and his team are everything their glowing reviews say about them. It’s time for me to get those blackouts I’ve been dreaming about – or rather those blackouts that help me dream – and I’m going to build my dream show-home look around them.

No wonder these guys are the blinding best!
