  • Stolen Boris back home

    Lianne Ryan Share

    09 February 2010

BORIS, a four-month-old Golden Labrador who was stolen from outside a shop on Christmas Eve, has finally been reunited with his family.
The puppy was tied to a bin outside the Super Pound Shop, in Foleshill Road, while owner Marta Wisniewski carried out some last minute Christmas shopping. But when Marta returned, Boris had vanished.
Marta, her husband Marisuz and the couple's four-year-old son Max frantically searched for Boris, and with the help of volunteers posted his photo on the internet and called vets across the city in the hope of finding him.
Speaking to The Observer, Marisuz said his wife Marta was distraught when Boris was stolen and spent most of Christmas in tears.
The family feared Boris had gone for good, and even bought a new puppy, Banjo, to fill the void.
But good news came on January 20 when Boris was taken to a city vets to be treated for an ear infection, and the vet recognised him as the missing hound.
Boris was finally reunited with his family two days later, and Marisuz said he had already become firm friends with Banjo.
