ARMED robbers threatened staff with a gun during a raid on the Walsgrave branch of Lloyds TSB.
The robbers walked into the bank in Walsgrave Road at around 4.40pm on Friday. After threatening staff with a gun and stealing an undisclosed sum of cash, the robbers walked out of the bank to a waiting black Audi, which then sped off.
Police hunting the robbers believe witnesses may have spotted the men, or the Audi, near Walsgrave Road before the raid took place.
Sgt Martin Kelly, of Chace Avenue police station, said: "This is a very serious incident which left members of staff understandably shaken.
"I would like to ask members of the community who where in and around the area to cast their minds back. Maybe they saw the offenders or their car before they entered the bank or observed suspicious activity.
"If this is the case, and no matter how small the detail, please contact police," he added.
Both robbers were white, around 5'8" to 5'10" tall, and were wearing dark clothing. One was described as very slim with "dirty" skin, while his accomplice was around 30-years-old, with a stocky build and light coloured hair.
Police belived the registration of the Audi was H7 DPR.
Witnesses, or anyone with information about the robbery, should call Chace Avenu police station on 0845 1135000 or call the confidential Crimestoppers hotline on 0800 555111.
