After news that Danish pro, Gus Hansen will be joining Full Tilt Poker as a brand ambassador, online poker sensations Tom Dwan and Viktor Blom have announced that they will be joining him when the website re-opens its virtual doors on the 6th November. The three players, who will be collectively labelled as the Full Tilt Poker “Professionals” will work to promote the brand with their legendary status in the poker industry.
The three “Professionals” have demonstrated influential tactics, entertaining skills and have captured the attention of players across the world. “In choosing our pros we approached the three poker players whose unique and innovative styles have had the most impact on how modern poker is played,” said Sarne Lightman, the Head of Marketing at Full Tilt.
Dwan and Blom both used to frequently play high stake games on Full Tilt before the former management shut down the site in June of last year. The fierce competitions between them generated a lot of interest from the poker community and their return will no doubt reignite an old rivalry.
Speaking of his return to the virtual felt, Dwan said: “I’m very excited that Full Tilt Poker is re-launching. I think it is great for poker and I’m excited to be a part of it.”
Following appearances on poker TV programmes such as Poker After Dark, High Stakes Poker and Million Dollar Cash Games, as well as final table finishes in multiple World Series of Poker and World Poker Tour events, Dwan has cemented an impressive reputation. “Tom is one of the most feared and respected players in the world today,” said Lightman. “His exploits at the Full Tilt Poker tables generated a huge following in the poker community and we are thrilled to bring that action back for our players.”
Blom, who also made his name on the Full Tilt site, is eagerly awaiting the re-launch next month. “I always loved playing on the Full Tilt Poker software, it is where I made my name and enjoyed some of my greatest victories,” he said. “When they approached me about joining the team I knew this was the right fit for me.”
The Swedish pro is well known for his aggressive tactics in high stake games, and has played in some of the biggest online cash pot games in the history of poker. He made his debut back in 2009 on the Full Tilt site, playing under the username of “Isildur1”. After signing with PokerStars in 2011, his identity was revealed and he started to break through into the world of live tournaments. His first high profile live event came at the 2012 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure $100,000 buy-in Super High Roller event in January, where he earned $1.25 million in winnings. His success has continued with several World Series of Poker cash-ins and final table appearances in European Poker Tour side events.
The Full Tilt Poker website will be available to customers from the 6th November and will bring back the online action and innovative software that players have been missing. “The game of poker is always evolving,” said Lightman. “Through our continual innovations, Full Tilt Poker is proud to have been at the forefront of that evolution.”
