Two local Interflora florists in Coventry are gearing up for the ultimate test of their skills this year and they are looking forward to the challenge. Interflora’s Florist of the Future and Florist of the Year competitions are national events that see the best in the industry battle it out to be pick of the bunch.
Vicky Rymel has gone through to the semi-finals of the Florist of the Year competition after winning the region heat in 2012. Vicky has been a professional florist for more than 10 years and her level of skill and attention to detail really impressed the judging panel. Although this was her first time competing in a live competition, Vicky rose to the occasion and created a stunning bridal piece that cinched her victory.
And it was more good news for Coventry in the Florist of the Future competition. Amy Manley, also from Hubbard’s Florist in Coventry, wowed the judges with her intricate designs and secured her place in the semi-finals. The competition is aimed at florists who have less than 4 years of experience but it was clear to the judges that Amy has used every day working at Hubbard’s to her advantage.
The Florist of the Year and Florist of the Future finals will be held at the RHS Tatton Park Flower Show in July. For more information on the flowers and arrangements available from Interflora, including beautiful Valentine’s gifts, visit the Interflora website.
