CHILDREN'S entertainer Shane West has won the most prestigious competition in his industry.

Shane - who is better known as Zoobee at the popular tourist attraction Hatton Adventure Farm near Warwick - has been named British Children Entertainer’s National Champion.

A record number of more than 3,400 magicians were at the Blackpool Magic Convention with around 1,500 adults and children watching the competition.

It is his second award in four months after he won first prize in November last year in the Kidology UK Awards for Children’s Entertainment.

"I’m on top of the world, it’s hard to explain," said former Pontins' bluecoat Shane, 36, who lives in Coventry.

"There’s nothing better than this award in my category. I’m at the very top. It means everything to me. I’m now a recognised figure in the magic community."
