A FINALIST in the prestigious So Yo Think You're Funny competition at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival heads the line up at the next Stand Up Wednesday night at Careys.
Actor, writer and comedian Liam Williams has been one of the most talented new comics working today and he will be on the club's stage on March 6.
Also on the bill is Matt Forde, a regular on the Jon Richardson Show on BBC 6 Music; Hackney Empire New Act finalist Andrew Ryan and Tom Total, the runner up of the Loaded Laftas Best Act 2011.
The entertainment starts at 7pm with tickets priced £6 and £8.
A CHARITY concert showcasing local bands takes place at Hereward College on Friday, March 1.
The Last Train Home, Sleeping Satellite and The Tide will play with funds shared between the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign and Friends of Hereward College.
It has been organised to mark the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign's Make today count event, which sees fund-raisers across the country take on challenges and organise events on the first weekend of spring.
Tickets are priced at £6 from Charlotte Allen on 0121 779 4488.
THE stage version of classic children's novel I Was A Rat! has opened at the Old Rep in Birmingham.
Described as a 'gloriously dark and gripping', it tells the fantastical story of Roger, a scruffy page boy who turns up one evening on the doorstep of old married couple Bob and Joan.
It stars former Billy Elliot actor Fox Jackson-Keen in the lead role and runs until March 2 as part of the Birmingham Repertory Theatre’s centenary celebrations.
Tickets are priced £8 to £20 with concessions available from the box office on 0121 236 4455 or online at birmingham-rep.co.uk.
