TEENAGE singers Allure are hoping girl power will help them to the final of a national singing competition.
Bishop Ullathorne School pupils Paris Stokes, 16, Isabella Rooney, 14, Alice Gordon, 15 and Charly Catebsy, 15, will sing on the NEC stage on Saturday, March 23 in the regional final of TeenStar.
The prize for the winner is a chance to sing in front of industry executives at the O2 in London later in the year.
The girls sang together for the first time at a recent school retreat just before Christmas and since then they have become good friends.
And they have high hopes of success with judges in the initial auditions praising the chemistry between the girls.
“We are really pleased to have made it through,” said Alice, from Stivichall.
“We mixed our tack up and that must have impressed the judges because there was a lot of really good acts there.
“We’ve all got our own different styles but we put them together and did our own version of a Tinie Tempah song by turning it into an acoustic version.
“We all watch X Factor and it’s been an amazing experience so far and hopefully we can impress the judges again.”
The competition is divided into three age categories, 16-19, 13-15 and a special category searching for pre-teens.
Paris, who is from Cheylesmore, added the group have become good friends during the process but know they are up against difficult opposition.
“When we went to the first audition we saw some of the other acts and they are really good.
“There was a few other groups so we know we face some tough competition.
“But we enjoy meeting up and we’ve been practising our routine so hopefully we can impress the judges again.”
