COUPLES can experience a Valentine’s Day with a difference by hopping onto the love boat for a romantic cruise.

This Valentine’s Day, love birds are being given the chance to enjoy a two-and-a-half-hour Valentine’s Love Boat Cruise aboard a 70ft narrow boat called The Coventrian.

Departing from Swan Lane Wharf, The Living Environment Trust-operated boat, will host couples for a cruise along Coventry Canal.

The trip, on Thursday, February 14, will depart at 7.30pm and includes a table for two with a three-course meal, background music and full table service.

And the Coventry Observer has teamed up with The Living Environment Trust to offer one lucky couple the chance to enjoy the Valentine’s Love Boat Cruise absolutely free.

The cruise, normally priced at £49 per couple, will be catered by Cofa’s Food and Drink. The menu includes minted oriental prawns or shredded duck in plumb sauce, followed by Chicken breast with a mushroom and tarragon sauce or beef and mushrooms in red wine gravy topped with a puff pastry lid both served with rosemary potatoes, chantenay carrots and green beans.

The meal will conclude with a choice of chocolate torte or a cheddar and stilton platter followed by tea or coffee.

The Coventrian regularly hosts themed cruises and children’s parties, operates as a water taxi to the Ricoh Arena, and is available for private hire and conferences.
