Longserving Fee Smith and Kath Healion with Coventry Sports Foundation chief executive Paul Breed and trustees Alistair McIntosh, Rose Ruddick and Pat O’Donnell (s)
LIFETIME friends Fee Smith and Kath Healion have been recognised for dedicating a combined 50 years of service to Coventry Sports Foundation.
The pair who both live in Coundon and were classmates at St Osburgs Primary School and Bishop Ullathorne Secondary School have been presented with special awards after they both passed the 25-years landmark.
Both joined the organisation at the same time when it was established in 1987 through the firm’s Youth Training Scheme (YTS), the equivalent of today’s modern apprenticeship.
And between then and now they have worked their way up together to senior positions.
Fee is now the manager of Centre AT7 while Kath is operations manager across all the foundation's sites which also include The Alan Higgs Centre and Xcel Leisure Centre.
Chief executive Paul Breed said: "Their career progression since that time should be inspirational to young people who want to see how they can progress in the industry.
"They are two of the hardest working people I have ever had the pleasure of working with and they have been, and will continue to be, an asset to Coventry Sports Foundation."
Both were presented with a special plaque as a memento to mark the milestone.
MEMBERS at Brandon Wood Golf Course are to get free use of the facilities at six city leisure centres.
The deal includes entry to Alan Higgs Centre in Binley, Xcel Leisure Centre in Canley, Centre AT7 in Foleshill, Coventry Sports and Leisure Centre in Fairfax Street, Foleshill Sports and Leisure Centre and Moat House Leisure and Neighbourhood Centre.
