Hi: 16° Lo:3° 7 day

Russian play Marriage opens at the Belgrade next month.
ONE of the stars of popular ITV drama Fat Friends and BAFTA winning Casualty is among the cast of the Belgrade Theatre’s new comedy.
Janine Mellor will help the theatre to banish the winter blues with Marriage which opens for a three-week run on Saturday, February 2.
Belgrade artistic director Hamish Glen directs this new adaptation by Laurie Slade of Nikolai Gogol comic masterpiece.
Set in the Russian city of St Petersburg it tells the story of the indecisive civil servant Ivan as he decides it’s finally time to take a wife.
His local matchmaker comes forward with a blushing bride-to-be, but she already has a string of suitors lined up to take her hand. However Ivan’s best friend devises a cunning plan to help wipe out the competition and make sure the day ends with wedding bells ringing.
Returning to the Belgrade is Barbara Young, who played the nurse in The Father last year; and Paul Trussell, who played Le Noir in the award-winning production The Three Musketeers and the Princess of Spain in 2010.
Jan Goodman treads the Belgrade boards for the first time since the 80s when she performed in numerous shows such as The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Murder at the Vicarage.
Tickets are priced from £7.75 to £17, and there are matinée performances of Marriage on February 9, 16 and 23 (all Saturdays) and on Wednesday, February 20.
We have a pair of tickets to giveaway to the performance at 7.30pm on Monday, February 4.
