THESE young entrepreneurs are hoping to turn £1 into much needed funds for the Mercia MS Therapy Centre.

A group of 37 sixth formers at Caludon Castle School have taken up the challenge set by centre manager Zoe Saville-Edden.

She handed each of them £1 and gave them until February when the one who has raised the most will win gift vouchers and a meal for two.

Among their ideas were baking and selling cakes, and buying items at markets and car boot sales and then selling them on the internet.

All the proceeds from the £1 challenge will go towards the £140,000 a year running costs of the centre in Alderman’s Green which provides therapies for local people with multiple sclerosis and children with cerebral palsy and autism.

Mrs Saville-Edden said: “I can’t wait to see the unusual and enterprising ways that £1 can be used to raise funds for our charity.”
