ONE of the world's leading sport business experts will address the major issues facing the global sport industry in the 21st century during a free lecture at Coventry University.
Simon Chadwick, sport business strategy and marketing boss at Coventry University, will take a look at some of the significant challenges facing the industry and set out proposals to ensure its future sustainability and continued prosperity on January 31.
Fresh from his appearance alongside Lord Sebastian Coe at the Doha GOALS sports forum in Qatar, Chadwick will discuss the governance of sport, its commercial development and links with global corporations, and the role it plays in people’s lives all over the world.
"Sport’s influence extends across international borders however and it plays a major role in communities around the world," said Chadwick.
"But as a global business it faces a number of organisational challenges and I’ll be tackling some of these issues at this forthcoming lecture in January."
*Another free talk will also take place at the university discussing ideas for improving the lives of older residents in the city.
The University’s Age Research Centre (ARC) will be hosting the Age Friendly Cities and Communities Open Day next Thursday (January 17).
Researchers, policy makers, charitable groups and other interested parties are invited along to discuss ways to change people's perceptions about ageing and older people.
Any city or community that is committed to creating inclusive and accessible urban environments to benefit their ageing population is welcome to join and the Open Day in January forms a first step along the way towards Coventry playing a major part in this worldwide network.
The event takes place from 9.30am-4pm on at Coventry University TechnoCentre, Puma Way, Coventry, CV1 2TT.
