A COVENTRY City fan will appear in court charged with racial abuse made during the club's match with Tottenham Hotspur.

Kevin Woodward, 35, has been charged by Metropolitan Police with a racially aggravated public order offence after the Sky Blues' 3-0 defeat to the London side on Saturday afternoon.

The charge relates to an allegation abuse was directed at rival fans at White Hart Lane.

He was bailed to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on Monday, January 21.

Coventry took 5,000 fans for the visit - the second time in eight days that figure had been hit following the side's trip to MK Dons.
