Two seriously injured in Christmas Day smash

TWO young people were seriously injured in car crash on Christmas Day.

It happened at around 10.15pm on Sandy Lane in the city.

The pair, a man and a woman in their 20s, had to be cut free by firefighters from the back of one of the two cars involved.

Both were taken to University Hospital. Their condition is not known.

Two other people in the same car were also taken to hospital with minor injuries while two in the second car were treated at the scene, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.
