Police probe man's death after Litten Tree assault

A MAN has died after allegedly being assaulted in the Litten Tree on Saturday night, police said.

The 44-year-old - who has not been named - was found dead at an address in the Stoke area of the city on Tuesday morning.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained and a post mortem is due to take place on Wednesday to determine the exact cause of death.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested this morning in connection with the incident.

Detective Inspector Stuart Bell, who is leading the enquiry, said: "We would ask anyone who witnessed the assault which happened at around 1am on Saturday to contact us as soon as possible."
