SHE'S A LADY - and she's an emotional lady after Margaret Smith was handed a signed photo of Tom Jones for her 100th birthday.

The singer's gift to the centenarian went down a storm with Margaret, who was inundated with presents for the milestone.

Another highlight saw Mr Coventry himself, Joe Elliott, visit the Coundon Care Charity's base in Dallington Road.

Honorary fund-raiser Pam Barnes said: "Margaret really enjoyed it and loved the Tom Jones photo. We all had a lovely time making it wonderful for her."

She added: "Joe Elliott has always been popular. He comes to all our events and is a great supporter of charities.

"He has supported us ever since we became a charity in 1988."
