OLYMPIC football in the city will be forever remembered after Coventry Council received a unique gift from FIFA president Sepp Blatter.
The stadium, which was known as the City of Coventry Stadium throughout the Games, hosted 12 Olympic football matches from July 25 to August 9, including Team GB women's quarter-final clash against Canada.
The Lord Mayor was presented with an official pennant from FIFA on Thursday which will be put on display in the Council House for people to see, along with the Paralympic Lantern.
During the tournament at the stadium, the Lord Mayor met Mr Blatter, the President of FIFA and shortly afterwards he sent a unique FIFA Pennant to mark that Coventry and the Ricoh Stadium had been chosen as an Olympic City to host world class football.
The Lord Mayor, coun Tim Sawdon, said: "The FIFA pennant will be a lasting reminder to the people of Coventry of the legacy of the Olympic Games 2012 and the role that Coventry played."
