Tubs & Tiles’ Ashley Heath in a bath of donated goodies. (s)
ONE businessman will be taking a bath of a different kind this Christmas in support of the lonely and isolated over the festive period.
Ashley Heath, who runs Tubs & Tiles in Waterman Road, is urging people to donate gifts of food and toiletries in support of his Fill a Bath for Christmas campaign.
Mr Heath launched the initiative last year for customers to fill a bathtub, or as many as possible at his bathroom showroom, with tins and packets of food and toiletries for Age UK to distribute through its day centres and friendship clubs across Warwickshire.
"We have about 60 bathroom displays and I would be delighted if we filled as many baths as possible with goodies," he said.
Elizabeth Phillips, chief executive of Age UK Warwickshire, said the collections would be distributed at day centres to older people who felt isolated and lonely, and who came along for companionship, lunch and games.
"I would like to thank the people at Tubs & Tiles for helping to fill our hampers last year and for offering to do the same again this year."
