COVENTRY has been lit up for Christmas after a packed-out Broadgate witnessed an afternoon of entertainment yesterday (Sunday).
The city's annual lights switch-on saw thousands of visitors enjoy 70s rocker Roy Wood blast out festive anthem I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day.
He handed over the job of switching on the lights to little Pagan Pittaway, who entered a competition to win the chance to press the all-important button.
Other acts had also kept the crowd entertained throughout the afternoon, including pantomine dames and nine-piece Functionality, who also performed with Wizzard frontman Wood.
The Belles of Three Spires added to a year which has seen them play in Olympic Park with a performance, while local musician and student Reece Bahia also took to the stage.
