FATHER Christmas is ready to hit the road in an all new sleigh.
The Rotary Club's sleigh has been upgraded with new sound, lighting and a complete redecoration thanks to a host of firms ahead of its traditional tour of the city.
Listers Toyota Coventry have provided a Toyota Hilux to tow it, Harris Sign Group stripped it down, repainted it and finished it off with new signage, and Warmmead Electrical and Lighting provided a new modern, low voltage LED lighting.
Nyanza Autoparts have provided the speakers while Sainsbury’s at Canley has pledged to fuel Santa by providing the petrol for the sleigh during the collection.
Last year the sleigh raised just short of £8,000 over nine nights collecting from the streets of Coventry, Cannon Park shopping centre and Tesco Cross Point.
This year it will be raising money for Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance and Myton Hospice as well as other charities supported by Rotary and Rotaract Clubs.
Warren Offer, of Coventry Jubilee Rotary Club, said: "We’re delighted with the support from the local community each year; not only do they give generously they are so pleased to see Father Christmas coming down their streets.
"With the extra support local business have shown as well I think it is a phenomenal show of the true community spirit this city has."
