ANOTHER blaze-battered store in a city retail park has welcomed back shoppers.

Carpetright, in Coventry Airport Retail Park, opened its doors last week over a year after a huge fire destroyed the old store.

Lord Mayor Tim Sawdon officially opened the 8,500 sq ft superstore on Saturday, November 10.

Dunelm Mill, which caught the brunt of the damage, is another at the retail park, off the A45 at Tollbar Island, to have recently re-opened.

Carpetright store manager Rob Wagner said: "Having put a lot of hard work and investment into getting this new store up and running, we are thrilled that the time has finally come and, of course, to welcome the Lord Mayor of Coventry to mark the grand opening.

"With a brand new look, improved service capabilities and a wider product portfolio than ever before, we are most certainly back and look forward to welcoming as many customers to the fantastic new store as possible."
