ONE of the year's first Christmas events in Coventry has added £1,020 to the Enterprise Club's new mini bus fund.
People were queueing to get into the bazaar at the Avon Street headquarters of the Enterprise Club on Saturday.
General manager Jill Clark said: "Every item of bric-a-brac on sale was donated, all the raffle, tombola and Spinning Jenny prizes were donated, so we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported us."
It is one of the club's main fund-raisers of the year and kicked off a busy few weeks which will see charity bags packs at Tesco at Arena Shopping Park on December 6, Asda in Whitley on December 9, Morrisons on Alvis Shopping Park on December 19 and Iceland in Binley Road on December 22 and 23.
The £35,000 fund to replace the oldest of the club's three mini buses was also boosted by £400 by PCSO Matt Chater who ran Kenilworth and Coventry half marathons. He is now planning to run in the Edinburgh Marathon next year.
