A PRIMARY school was evacuated on Monday over fears of a gas leak.

Pupils at Stanton Bridge Primary School were taken out of classrooms at the Foleshill school and moved from the Oliver Street site to the nearby St Barnabas Family Centre, where parents and carers were able to take them home.

Coventry City Council said it was a precautionary measure over the suspected leak and Transco were trying to resolve the problem.
