TWO SEPARATE car crashes just one mile apart have left three people in hospital.
The smashes, in Walsgrave Road and Heath Crescent off the A444, happened three hours apart last night (Thursday).
A cyclist suffered a serious head injury in the first incident at around 7.35pm. The man, in his 30s, was unconscious when paramedics arrived after being hit by a car.
An Ambulance Service spokesman said two ambulance crews and four other paramedic crews were at the scene in Walsgrave Road.
He added a man, woman and a young girl in the car were checked over but were not injured.
The second incident, shortly before 10.50pm at the A444 junction with Heath Crescent, saw a motorcyclist collide with a car.
The biker, a man in his 50s, suffered a shoulder injury and breathing problems and was taken to University Hospital. The spokesman said the driver, a man in his 30s, experienced pain but his injuries were unknown and he was taken to hospital for further checks.
