Comedy names showcase their talent

A NEW season of the best in live stand-up comedy has begun at the Showcase cinema.

Some of the funniest comedians from the national and international festival circuit will appear at the cinema in Gielgud Way, Walsgrave every Saturday night until December 15.

Highlights of the season include Gary Delaney, a razor sharp one-liner comedian who is widely regarded as being the most quotable comic on the circuit. Delaney’s high quantity of standout gags will leave the Showcase Coventry audience struggling to remember them all this Saturday.

Sharp satirist Nick Revell is a regular on the alternative circuit, who mixes everyday observations with surreal flights of fancy, will be in the city on October 13.

On November 10 it will the turn of another highly anticipated arrival in Canadian Pete Johannson, who has burst onto the UK comedy circuit with his laid-back and observational style of humour. He has starred recently on BBC’s Russell Howard's Good News and Channel 4’s Best of the Fest.

Not to be missed on November 24 is award winning musical comedy and stand-up from the hilarious Vikki Stone, who was named in the Top 10 to Watch by The Independent while cult French comedian Marcel Lucont stars on December 8.

All shows start at 8.30 with tickets priced at £9.50 adults, £7.50 students and £6.25 Insider members.

Call 0871 220 1000 or log onto www.showcasecinemas.co.uk for full show details and tickets.
