A MAN has admitted downloading thousands of child porn pictures and movies.
Gareth Fowler, 31, was warned by a judge at Warwick Crown Court that he was likely to go to prison when he was sentenced later.
Fowler admitted seven charges of making a total of more than 10,500 indecent photographs of children and five charges of possessing 1,035 indecent movies of children with a view to them being distributed or shown to other people.
Nine of the pictures were considered to be most serious.
Fowler will be assessed to see whether he poses a danger to children before being sentenced. He was bailed to an address in Poplar Road, Earlsdon.
Prosecutor Charles Gardner said: "The defendant accepts he downloaded images onto a device which would have enabled them to be distributed, although there is no evidence they had actually been distributed."
Judge Alan Parker told Fowler: "The fact I am ordering a report and granting you bail is not to be taken as a sign by you you are going to be dealt with in any way other than a sentence of imprisonment forthwith."
