ZOE'S Place Hospice has been chosen as the official partner of the city's annual half marathon.
Fund-raising manager Kelvin Green said the charity was delighted to be chosen.
Estimated costs reach £800,000 this year, making support even more crucial.
It comes after organisers announced a major coup with international sports brand Decathlon sponsoring the race.
John Martindale, from organisers Big-Q, said: "Having a local charity on board is great news for us all.
"First and foremost it provides Zoe's Place with high value access to our runners to raise much needed funds. Runners will also be able to make donations online at the time of entry."
