A MAN who was arrested in connection with the disappearance of missing Coventry mother Nicola Payne has been released without charge.
The Observer reported in June that detectives had been searching parkland off Purcell Road and an address in Miles Meadow, Courthouse Green after receiving fresh information about her disappearance 21 years ago.
The information led to the arrest of Patrick Judge, 74, and his son Keith 45, six weeks ago on suspicion of conspiracy to prevent the lawful and decent burial of a body
Patrick was released days after his arrest while Keith was on police bail as officers continued their enquiries after the search failed to reveal any new evidence.
The 45-year-old was released without charge today (August 2) after consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service.
But detective inspector Martin Slevin, who is leading the investigation, insists the search for Nicola continues.
"The investigation is still very much ongoing and we are following up lines of enquiry which came from members of the public following the recent appeals for information.
"We hope that anyone who has any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem and who has not come forward, will do so now."
Nicola was aged just 18 when she went missing from the Wood End area of the city on December 14 1991.
She had left her boyfriend's house in Winston Avenue to pick up some baby clothes for her seven-month-old son Owen but despite extensive enquiries, has not been seen or heard from since.
Nicola's family were kept aware of the developments.
Detectives can be contacted by calling 101 or information can be given anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
