Plent of laughs in Brandon Thomas' Victorian farce Charley's Aunt

By IH 22/06 Updated: 22/06 12:32

CLASSIC Victorian farce Charley's Aunt can be seen at Kenilworth's Priory Theatre from July 4 to 14.

Brandon Thomas' favourite revolves around Lord Fancourt Babberley, called 'Babbs', a jolly little undergraduate with a penchant for amateur theatricals.

He is persuaded by love-sick Charley and lovesick friend Jack to impersonate Charley’s Aunt from Brazil, but when unexpected guests arrive for lunch there follows a dizzy round of manoeuvring.

The play stars Sarah Sambrook as Amy Spettigue, Dean Mullis as Lord Fancourt Babberley, Ashleigh Dickinson as Kitty Verdun and Ben Wellicome as Jack Chesney.

Performances are at 7.30pm nightly with tickets priced at £8 and £7 concessions. Group rates are also available.

They are on sale from the box office on 01926 863334 or online at www.priorytheatre.co.uk.
