THIS brainy bunch of locals from The Holyhead have won £2,000 in a national competition to find Britain's ultimate pub quiz team.

Quizzy Rascals scooped second place in the Great Ember Quiz after going head-to-head with boffins from the country's top ten teams.

The quartet had already overcome 240 other teams to win their regional heat after quizzers from 130 towns and cities entered the competition, hosted by pub chain Ember Inns.

It earned them a place at the national final in Birmingham with Strictly Come Dancing star John Sergeant as quzimaster.

The Holyhead's manager Jonathan Attridge said: "We’re delighted one of the quiz teams from our pub was announced as regional winner.

"Out of 240 teams, it’s a real accolade to get this far, so we’re all very proud of them."
